LLM Agent Operating System
This research addresses the challenges in integrating and deploying large language model (LLM)-based agents, such as inefficient scheduling and resource allocation. They introduce AIOS, an LLM agent operating system, designed to optimize resource use, manage agent context and concurrency, and ensure security and access control, improving the performance and efficiency of LLM agents. Limitations include the initial scope of AIOS focusing primarily on enhancing LLM kernel without significant OS kernel modifications and a primary emphasis on agent rather than system-level optimization. Future work suggests exploring advanced scheduling algorithms, efficient context management, and enhanced safety and privacy measures. The findings indicate that AIOS could significantly streamline LLM-based agent deployment and operation.
