Meta's VFusion3D: Transforming 3D Content Creation with AI

Meta, in collaboration with the University of Oxford, has introduced VFusion3D, an advanced AI model that significantly enhances 3D content creation by transforming 2D images into high-quality 3D models. This innovation addresses the traditional scarcity of 3D data by leveraging pre-trained video AI models to generate synthetic 3D data, thus enabling scalable and rapid production of 3D assets from minimal input​.

VFusion3D operates by fine-tuning an existing video diffusion model, EMU Video, which has been trained with extensive video data, including panning shots and drone footage.
